The Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces is currently led by our Managing Director, Prof. Dr. Peter H. Seeberger. In this context, we invite applications from outstanding persons for the position of

Max Planck Director - W3 BBesG (m/f/d) - Theory

More specifically, we are looking for an outstanding internationally recognized senior researcher with a strong academic track record in Chemistry or Materials Science using theory methods (including but not limited to the use of Machine Learning techniques). Candidates must hold a PhD and have an outstanding track record of academic and leadership experience.

The position is available starting from 2026/2027.

Your remuneration is based on remuneration group W3 of the Federal Civil Service Remuneration Act (Bundesbesoldungsgesetz – BBesG).
