Field Service Engineer

  • Installation and commissioning of fiber laser sources and laser systems at customer premises.
  • Setup and configuration of integrated laser metrology equipment/ software.
  • Servicing low voltage electrical or computer equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, refurbishing and optimizing laser system performance.
  • Demonstrations and customer training.
  • Responding to service questions via our service hotline.
  • Completion and submission of field service reports.
  • Overseeing the Returns Material Authorisation process
  • Management of spare parts inventory.
  • Technical qualification(s) in photonics, electrical, or electronic engineering.
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting capability with both analogue and digital electronics.
  • Experience with communication protocols (e.g. field buses) would be beneficial.
  • Familiar with industrial software and/or an ability to learn technical software.
  • Applications experience with laser welding or other laser processes would be a benefit.
  • Able to analyse, evaluate and assess complex mechanical components.
  • A ‘hands-on’ engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years related experience.
  • Willing to travel (and work away) within the UK/ Ireland and occasionally overseas.
  • Good communication skills and a team player.
  • Driving licence.
